Georgia Dugout Club Power Rankings Breakdown – Class 7A

August 29, 2025 – Atlanta, GA
The first GHSA Class 7A softball power rankings of 2025 are here, and they showcase just how loaded the state’s largest classification is. From national powerhouses to fast-rising contenders, the Top 10 is a who’s who of Georgia softball.

Top 10 Teams
1. East Coweta (12–0)
The Indians once again sit atop Class 7A, carrying an unbeaten record into late August. With a lethal mix of veteran leadership, dominant pitching, and a deep batting order, East Coweta has already racked up statement wins over ranked opponents. Their power ranking score (0.733) reflects both their perfect start and the high caliber of opponents they’ve faced.
2. Buford (8–0)
The Wolves trail closely behind, also unbeaten and looking every bit like a title contender. Buford’s pitching staff has posted multiple shutouts, and their offense has been clutch in close games. While they’ve faced fewer games than East Coweta, Buford’s reputation and depth ensure this battle for No. 1 will last all season.
3. Carrollton (7–0)
The Trojans have quietly pieced together a perfect start of their own, highlighted by balanced hitting and timely defense. Their overall power ranking (0.700) reflects the fact that Carrollton is not just winning but doing so against quality competition.
4. Tift County (7–1)
The Blue Devils are proving to be a South Georgia powerhouse, with a lone blemish but plenty of firepower. Their strength of schedule has been impressive, and their ability to battle with the state’s best keeps them solidly in the Top 5.
5. Richmond Hill (4–1)
One of the most intriguing early risers, Richmond Hill breaks into the Top 5 after an impressive start. Their high opponents’ winning percentage shows they aren’t shying away from strong competition, and their early run signals they could be this year’s breakout contender.
6. North Gwinnett (8–1)
The Bulldogs sit just outside the Top 5 with a strong 8–1 record. Their lone loss came in a tight contest, and they’ve shown depth in both pitching and hitting. Expect them to climb higher as region play continues.
7. Mill Creek (5–2)
The Hawks’ 5–2 start includes several quality wins. With a power ranking just behind North Gwinnett, Mill Creek is positioning itself as a consistent Top 10 threat.
8. Harrison (8–2)
The Hoyas have been battle-tested early, with eight wins already logged. Their schedule strength isn’t quite as high as some above them, but Harrison has shown resilience in close games.
9. Brookwood (8–2)
A perennial contender, the Broncos are right behind Harrison with an identical record. Their depth and experience mean they can challenge anyone in the state.
10. Dacula (8–4)
Though they’ve taken a few more losses, Dacula’s strength of schedule is among the toughest in the classification. Their 8 wins prove they belong in the conversation, and they’re a team no one wants to see in October.

Teams to Watch
  • North Cobb (9–3) – Just outside the Top 10, the Warriors are building momentum with strong hitting.
  • Archer (7–1) – Despite fewer games, their near-perfect record shows promise.
  • Cherokee (8–4) – Always dangerous in region play, the Warriors could rise quickly.
  • Walton (8–3) – A balanced team with depth to upset top-tier programs.

Storylines to Follow
  • Can East Coweta and Buford stay unbeaten deep into September? Their eventual clash could decide not only the top of 7A but the No. 1 ranking in the state.
  • Will a South Georgia team like Tift County or Richmond Hill break into the Top 3? Both have the pitching to make noise late in the season.
  • Depth of Gwinnett County softball. With North Gwinnett, Mill Creek, Brookwood, Dacula, and Archer all ranked, the county is once again a hotbed for top-tier softball.

Georgia Dugout Club Power Rankings Breakdown – Class 6A

August 29, 2025 – Atlanta, GA
The first GHSA Class 6A softball power rankings have dropped, and the race for supremacy in this classification looks as tight as ever. With a mix of traditional powers and rising programs, the Top 10 features both expected contenders and fresh challengers.

Top 10 Teams

1. Veterans (12–1)
The Warhawks start 2025 at No. 1 thanks to an impressive 12–1 record and one of the most balanced rosters in the state. Veterans’ pitching has been lights-out, allowing minimal runs, while their lineup consistently delivers in big moments. With a power score of 0.761, they’ve separated themselves early as the team to beat in 6A.

2. Glynn Academy (7–3)
Don’t let the three losses fool you — Glynn Academy’s schedule has been brutal, and their strength of opponents is among the highest in the state. Their resilience against top competition proves they can battle deep into October, making them a dangerous No. 2.

3. Loganville (9–0)
Undefeated and confident, Loganville’s 9–0 start cements them as a serious title threat. Their pitching staff has already produced multiple shutouts, and their offensive lineup is clicking at the right time. Their climb into the Top 3 shows they’re ready to contend with the elite.

4. Decatur (7–0)
